Mosonmagyaróvár Castle

4D Landscape Architecture prepared a landscape architecture concept for the entire grounds of Mosonmagyaróvár Castle, a listed historic monument that houses the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of Széchenyi István University. The aim of the project was the comprehensive renewal of the castle surroundings, the introduction of new uses, and the coordinated development of the site’s green space system.

The first phase of the concept was implemented in 2021 in the area between the Castle and the Castle Cellar hill. As part of the landscape improvements, a new promenade was created, with seating and event areas designed to support the institution’s outdoor programmes. The new spaces provide a setting for open-air exhibitions, museum education activities, fairs and other events.
